Welcome to this page.  My name is Heather Marshall and I am the founder of Dyslexia Thrive.

Welcome to this page.  My name is Heather Marshall
and I am the founder of Dyslexia Thrive.
Many people believe that dyslexia only affects an individual's ability to spell accurately or learn to read.  The reality is dyslexia impacts a dyslexic's life in so many ways.  I know this because I have lived the life of a dyslexic thinker and I am the mother of dyslexic thinkers.  I have experienced many of dyslexia's challenges and learnt to harness many of dyslexia's strengths.  Being dyslexic has moulded me into the person I am but it has not defined me.

My experiences have led me to becoming a teacher who is passionate about enabling children who experience challenges to thrive.

Being in the position of working 1:1 gives me the opportunity to build strong working relationship with a child.  Such a relationship has an intensely positive role in developing a child’s self-belief.

Developing a positive self-belief empowers a child to take greater ownership of their learning, which leads to more opportunities for success. Over time these positive experiences enrich how a child perceives themselves; their self-esteem is strengthened.  A strong trait of self-belief and self-esteem are key ingredients to enabling a child to thrive and these can be developed.
